"The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." Proverbs 16:9
I ran across this verse again today, which has occurred several times since this journey has started. That's applicable every single day. I always have plans, they always turn out different, and when I look back it all makes sense.
Ryan had a good day today. He didn't get sick, so that's a good thing! The kids got home after I did, and they were worn out (except Emma)! They spent a lot of time at the pool this afternoon/evening. We were expecting someone to make dinner, but it didn't automagically appear tonight like it has the past several nights. :) Maybe that's because Pops and Mama Elise headed back across the country today.
Emma was a happy girl this evening...like she is every day. She kept climbing on me, jumping up and down, and laughing. She is a blast.
Ryan played a puzzle game on the ipod for a while and Davianna was watching "The Mask." Afterward, it was time for bed, which is the best part of the day. I just need to get them up there earlier, so I can spend more one-on-one time with them. That's when we have the best conversations.
Davianna was sad about something this evening, and she said, "I can't help it. I'm just weak when it comes to feelings." Oh, boy. I'm in for a bumpy ride. :)
I received a jury summons from our city on Friday, so I called the county courthouse for documentation to show that I served on a jury last year about this time. I was the foreman and really enjoyed it, but with all of the time that I've taken off from work for Ryan, I think I will use the acceptable exemption of recently serving on a jury. The city said they had no way of knowing if I have served on a jury for the county. Really?
That's about it for today. The kids had fun, Mirjan was beautiful, and the day was good. Thank you, Lord.
Father, thank you for blessing Ryan with a healthy day! Thank you for Mirjan and her dedication and love for the kids. Thank you for the joy and happiness that a baby sister brings to everyone. Father, I ask that you continue to strengthen Ryan's body, keep the side affects minimal, and heal my little boy. Your blessings are wonderful, and I am grateful. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
