"Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 4:9-11
I know that I have verse 10 in the blog, but I ran across this again. I keep thinking about my gifts, and how I will utilized those in His name. We took a spiritual gift test during the Alpha course about two years ago. I feel kind of guilty when I look back and question if I used any of those in His name. I have had more opportunity during this journey, believe that I have. But before this, have I? Hmmm....
Ryan had a good day today! He didn't eat a lot, but he had a good day.
I mowed, edged, trimmed bushes, etc. this morning. I mowed a happy face in the back yard, and the kids thought that was funny. Emma stayed at the window and kept calling me. Every now and then I would hear something over the radio, and she would be waving. Beautiful girl!
While I was mowing, Mathew from Make-A-Wish called me. He was a really nice guy, and will be coming over tomorrow to talk to Ryan. He called back again and asked if Ryan liked cake. He said since Ryan's birthday is next week, he would bring a birthday cake. God's love displayed...again.
When I was finishing up, the rest of the family headed to the neighborhood pool before it got too hot. Ryan had his hat, swimming shirt, long Hulk shorts, etc.
I steam cleaned the family room carpet while they were gone. It's amazing that even though we have rules not to eat or drink on the carpet, there are always spills. I think Ryan and Davianna are good, but Emma still has some learnin' to do.
Some people took naps in the afternoon, some didn't. Davianna and Ryan watched "16 Wishes" on Disney Channel. Then the evening just flew by. We didn't eat until 7, and I cooked to give Mirjan a break. I even provided the Chik-fil-A bags.
Mirjan felt better during the day, and then started hurting again tonight. I'm praying that she is better for the entire day tomorrow.
Before we went to bed, Ryan was singing "Our God" by Chris Tomlin. He gets most of the words right but check out his interpretation of these lyrics:
Original: "Our God is healer; Awesome in power"
Ryan's Version: "Our God is healer; My solar power"
Father, thank you for blessing us with a good day. Thank you for a healthy day for Ryan. Please be with Mirjan and let her body feel better. I ask that you continue to walk with Ryan and heal his little body. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
