Day One Hundred Thirty-four

"All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth" Col. 1:6

Another Friday, another chemo treatment, another sick little boy.  Ryan had a hard time right before his port was accessed.  He absolutely did not want any part of the treatment today.  It's frustrating to see my son so frustrated, and knowing that we just have to work through it because he needs the treatment.  He got sick again, and then after a while he was just fine.  There is another play therapy option, and they will send us the schedule.  Lord, please help us with this.

On a lighter side, when the nurse came in, she asked if Ryan was the "puker."  Yep, that's our boy!  Bring a bucket, please.

Ryan was real excited to see John today!  He came in and played with all the kids during the treatment.  Ryan had missed him the last several weeks, and talked about him the rest of the day.  He is such a blessing to Ryan.  Here are some more pictures:

Cupcakes after chemo!  Ryan ate two of them!

This is a young girl that Mirjan has made friends with.  She talks to her every week and she is very sweet. You can see what she thinks of Mirjan.

We spent about an forty-five minutes at the clinic after Ryan was done, and it was nice.  Afterward, we headed to the movie theater as some very nice people were providing a movie and lunch for kids at the clinic.

We didn't get home until 3:30-4:00, so it was a long day for the kids and everyone took a nap except Davianna and I.  We ran some errands and then headed home.  Will and MArielk came over for dinner, and it was great to see them.  Will took the kids for a walk and Mirjan and MArielk were talking real fast about something in spanish.  Will and Mirjan were discussing which is heavier:  1 pound of sugar or 1 pound of flour.  I wonder who thought the sugar was heavier. :)   We also learned that by watching a cake mix, you are able to tell how good it will taste.  Will said we will test the final product and determine if Mirjan's method was accurate.

It was a good day, and I'm glad we were able to spend it together!

Father, thank you for blessing Ryan with a safe treatment.  Thank you for the love and time of so many caring volunteers that truly make a difference in peoples lives daily.  Thank you for wonderful friends and the time with them.  This was a good day and thank you for blessing us with the time together.  I ask that you continue to strengthen Ryan and heal his little body.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.
