Ryan had a good day today. There were just a few moody outbursts, but not too bad. He is really getting into the computer, so we have to keep an eye on the time both he and Davianna spend there. Most of the time, they are playing educational/PBS games, but they can get diverted to others as well. Davianna likes typing and art, but also likes fashion games. Ryan likes puzzles, but also likes games with cars or anything that explodes. At least the network filters won't allow anything that they really should be doing or seeing.
We are seeing some of the side effects from the treatment, such as eyelid drooping and his walking stride is altered. The doctor said these are temporary, but still concerning. It feels like we have started down the backstretch, and it is somewhat discouraging to see these. It's in God's hands, and he is healing our boy. That's what matters most.
We danced a little to youtube videos on the TV tonight. Emma just starts going when she hears the music...just like her momma. Here is a video that I enjoy of Emma. The quality isn't great because I captured and edited it on the phone, but at least I was able to record her enthusiasm for music. :) It's a blast watching her. She grabbed my hands tonight and wanted to dance with me...gotta love it.
After I gave the kids a bath, Ryan and I played around in his room. I proved that the possum theory doesn't work. Ryan was all over me, so I just froze and was still for a while. He just kept doing WWE body slams on me and laughing. I was sure he was going to get tired after a while, but he was like the energizer bunny. Then I had to get revenge, and he laughed harder. I told him a story about a brave, strong boy named Captian Ry that saved the village from four headed dragon, he said a 5 minute prayer, and was off to sleep.
Mirjan was reading Davianna some books, so when they were done I put her (Davianna) to bed. She asked me why I married Mirjan, and I told her because I love her and she is hot. She asked me, "hot, like good looking or hot, like temperature." I said both.
Father, thank you for providing us what we need and desire daily. Thank you for the smiles and laughter of the children. Thank you for a loud house; it tests our patience at times, but I wouldn't want it any other way. I ask that you strengthen Ryan's body, minimize the side effects, give him confidence, and continue to heal his little body. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
