"always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." Ephesians 5:20
Ryan had a really good day today once he got past the clothes he was going to wear to church. He lost that battle, but quickly got over it and was in a good mood for the rest of the day. Thank you, Lord! He ate his lunch (with some help) and then ate all of his meatloaf at dinner. I think he had some gummy bears in between. Sleep, food, exercise, etc. all plays a much bigger impact on his behavior, and I'm sure the chemo throws in an x factor that we're still trying to understand.
Today was another relaxing day. After church, Mirjan took the kids to a birthday party, and Pops, Elise, and I went to the Apple store to see all the shiny, expensive, neat stuff. We left with no additional charges on the credit card, so it was a good visit. Then we ran by home depot on the way home. Davianna, Mirjan, and Emma took a nap, while Pops and Elise ran to the grocery store. Ryan and I watched TV and then Davianna joined us.
In the afternoon the kids and I got to work on my birthday present. We created a plaster paris mold that will set overnight, and then we can "bling it up" tomorrow with paint and jewels. Davianna was real creative in selecting "my" birthday gift. Anyway, the smile and excitement on her face is a great gift.
Later, Ryan and I played baseball outside and he wore me out. He thought it was funny to hit the ball in the street and watch me run after it. He really loves sports and the outdoors, and I can't wait until he is able to join a league. Afterward, we came in and Mirjan did some hand and face painting. She should be doing this at the birthday parties...amazing. And we paid $2 all those times, when Mirjan could have taken her set and done a better job. :)
For dinner, Pops made his famous meatloaf and Elise made homemade bread and mashed potatoes. It was a really nice dinner and everyone enjoyed it. We are going to miss these wonderful meals!
I gave the kids a bath, Ryan played a game, said his prayers and was fast asleep. Davianna worked on her writing workbook, and was fast asleep too. Mirjan took Emma, and I heard her making noise for quite a while. I think she put Mirjan to sleep tonight.
Father, thank you for blessing us with a wonderful day. Thank you for Pops and Elise's time, help, and generosity. I am thankful for the good, little moments of the day and for Ryan's good mood. I ask that you be with Mirjan this week as she donates blood for Ryan. Please continue to comfort Ryan, help all of us with the balance of food, behavior, and discipline, and continue to heal his little body. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
