Day Eighty-six

"According to your faith be it done to you."  Matthew 9:29

Ryan had another healthy day!  He was full of energy, but his mood was all over the place.  Over the past several weeks, he has gotten angry very quickly, which is completely out of character.  We're trying to find a balance of understanding and discipline, and I'm sure we'll find that with God's guidance.

Everyone just took it really easy today.  Davianna did some workbook exercises and then worked on writing some creative stories.  Mirjan planted something in the back and some flowers in the front.  Pops and Elise were reading, and I was doing a lot of nothing.  Relaxing day.

Mirjan and I went out for a birthday dinner on Pops and Elise.  That was really nice of them, not only for the dinner, but to watch the kids. The restaurant was really nice, and our table was ready when we arrived.  Mirjan ordered us an appetizer, and the kung-poa calamari was amazing.  We both had fish and then a coffee.  Afterward, they brought out a birthday cheesecake and some ice cream.  Mirjan sang happy birthday and then danced on the table. It was a nice, quiet dinner.

Here is my beautiful wife eating my birthday cheesecake.  By the time I took this picture, she had eaten about 3/4ths of it. :)

The kids watched "Planet 51" and munched on some popcorn.  Emma goes nuts over popcorn, and was climbing over Pops to get some. When we got home, they were still up and looked like they had a good evening.  The kids went to bed quickly.

Mirjan was laughing at one of my funny jokes.

Here is the cake from last night!

It was a good day, and I'm learning how to drag out a birthday over multiple days from Mirjan.  It really is nice. :)  She has already received her birthday gift and the magical day is over 4 months away.

Father, thank you for blessing us with a relaxing day.  Thank you for the wonderful birthday dinner with my wife, and the generosity of Pops and Elise.  I ask that you comfort Ryan and guide he and us with dealing with his behavior swings.  I ask that you strengthen his body this week, so he will not need the transfusion. Please continue to heal his little body.  In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
