"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Mathew 7:7
Ryan is doing well. Thank you, Lord! Today he received his fifth treatment, and he took it like a champ. His CBC results were at the bottom of the normal range. The nurse said that they will continue to move lower over the next week, so we'll see how they are next Friday. Mirjan and I asked more questions this week. I was asking for guidance on Ryan's ability to go out and about. Mirjan was asking dietary questions, because Ryan hasn't been eating a lot lately.
Ryan played with John again today. They are like two buddies (from different generations) that pick up immediately where they left off the week before....bumps, hi-fives, booyahs, etc. They were playing bowling again, and John was setting up and then picking up the pins for Ryan. After a while, Ryan came up to me and said, "Look up, look down....your pants are falling down." Thanks, John. Then they went and drank a soda in the kitchen area and were just hanging out. John gave him tickets to the UT baseball game, so we'll plan on going there next week. Thank you, Lord, for giving Ryan someone to look forward to seeing each week at his treatments.
Mirjan hovered over the Amy's Ice Cream freezer, and I know for a fact that she had two. I didn't check her purse to see if she got one to go, but I wouldn't bet against it. :) Emma just ran around making a lot of noise. It truly is a blessing that we are going to such a good facility with truly loving and caring people.
Emma was being mischievous this evening. She would sneak up on Ryan and hit him in the head with whatever she had in her hand. Ryan would get upset and, as a result, Emma would get upset. Then they would laugh, and it would start all over again. It's good to have a loud house.
This evening Ryan said his stomach was hurting, but he didn't get sick. We'll be watching him close this weekend. As I put him to bed, he said he wanted some "boys time" tomorrow, so he and I will go do something fun.
Father, thank you for the safe procedures and the wonderful individuals at the oncologist's office. Thank you for Ryan's courage at the doctor's office, and the enjoyment afterward that he experienced. I ask that you keep Ryan in your hands and continue to heal him. Let this be an uneventful weekend and allow his immune system to stay strong. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
