Day Forty-two

"For nothing is impossible with God."  Luke 1:37

Well, today started out interesting.  It takes me a long time to get to sleep, as I think about the day, everything that I need to do, etc.  Mirjan, however, is sound asleep about 1 minute after her head hits the pillow.  So, when I finally get to sleep, I don't like to be woken up (but that's a regular occurrence with three little ones).  Anyway, I had finally gotten to sleep, and I hear the door bell. What?!?  It's 2:30 in the morning and the doorbell is going off?  I look out the window and it's the police!  I don't see any cameras, so I know it's not COPS.  I then think about what I did today, and realize that I always follow the rules.  Therefore, it must have been something Mirjan did!  I wanted to get my phone, so I could video her arrest, but I didn't.   I opened the door and a very awake and loud policeman greeted me.  He said he noticed that our car door was opened and wanted me to check to see if someone broke into it.  All was fine, I thanked him, and he left.  I was annoyed because I was woken up, but impressed that the police were making rounds in our neighborhood, noticed that, and wanted to check it out.   Mirjan thinks that I think she left it open, but I don't.  I'm sure I did it when I was looking for the extra first aid kit last night.

Ryan is doing well, thank you, Lord!  He stayed in bed most of the day, so he had a lot of energy in the afternoon through the evening. Mirjan took the kids outside when Davianna got out of school and they had a blast.  Davianna was riding her bike and Ryan was playing basketball.  She took a video and sent it to my phone, and it was great.  Ryan hit a shot from from 10 feet and was nothing but net!

Mirjan and the kids then took the dog to get her shots at the school.  There wasn't a line, and it was significantly cheaper than the vet!

Some of Mirjan's friends came over after I got home to pray over Ryan.  So, we all laid hands on Ryan and prayed.  One of the ladies is a breast cancer survivor (5 years), and understood what he is going through.  It was a blessing for them to come over for him.  God's love displayed!

Tomorrow is the fifth chemo treatment, so we're praying that all goes normal and the CBC looks good.  He's been saying more that he doesn't like the hospital, so I'm sure it will be a little tough...especially when they access his port.

Father, thank you for a restful and fun day for Ryan.  I am grateful for your love displayed through Mirjan's friends, which was heartfelt and genuine.  I thank you for your comfort and strength today.  I ask that you continue to hold Ryan in your hands and heal him from head to toe.  Give him courage tomorrow, take his anxieties, and let the treatment be safe and effective.  In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.
