"Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!" 2 Corinthians 9:15
Ryan had a great day today! Thank you, Lord! We know that the cumulative effect of the chemo will take it's toll on his body, and we talked to the nurse about it on Friday. We keep preparing ourselves for the worse each weekend, but Ryan has been blessed with being able to recovery quickly each time. We will continue to pray for effective treatment and minimal side affects.
Mirjan also asked the doctor about the spots in his lung that showed up on the cat scan. The doctor said that they were so small that there really isn't anything that could be done, since the surgeon wouldn't even be able to find them. He said that based on Ryan's diagnosis, it is unlikely that it's anything bad. He also said if he got a cat scan and the same thing showed up, they wouldn't even mention it in the report. He said it could be the result of a previous infection. However, it's still something that stays in the back of our minds, and that we pray is nothing abnormal.
So, what happened today? It was a good day for everyone! Davianna was treated to a girl's day out with Peggy, and Davianna came home with a big smile! They went to the mall, ate lunch, she had her fingernails painted, was wearing some disney jewelry, and brought home a fancy hannah montana build-a-bear doll. It was so nice for Peggy to spend her afternoon with Davianna! God's love displayed!
Ryan and I went and did some guy stuff. He got his nerf gun from a combination of the hair fairy/mom and dad. That has got to be the best nerf gun ever! He can shoot them the entire length of the house. We then went to Sams Club and got everything on Mirjan's list. Ryan wanted more fruit and chips, so we got those too. On the way home, we stopped by Subway and ate a sandwich. We also had a competition to see how many Cheetos (acting as fangs) we could fit in our mouth.
After we got home and were playing with the nerf gun, Mirjan called. She said that her car broke down and the battery was dead. I asked her if she was sitting in the car listening to music for a long time, and the line went silent. She then quietly said, "yes." So, Ryan and I went to the rescue and gave her a jump. I think she was too happy about her wonderful day out with Emma to worry about this, which is a good thing. She reminds me not to worry about the little stuff in life, and that is just one of many reasons why I love her.
We all went our separate ways today, but came home together to a crazy, loud house. It was a good day.
Father, thank you for a good, healthy day for Ryan. Thank you for Peggy and her generosity with Davianna today. I ask that you bless all the people and their families that have showed us so much love and kindness. It is truly amazing what we have experienced. I thank you for a wonderful wife and three beautiful children. I ask that you keep Ryan's immune system strong, keep him healthy, and continue to heal his body. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
