"The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." Proverbs 18:10
Today was a good day, thank you, Lord! We went to the early service, and we weren't too late. Mirjan realized that she was supposed to be in the nursery, so she hung out with the little kids. Pastor gave a good message and there were several touching testimonies on the topic. Ryan didn't want to sunday school, so he stayed with me during the service. That's the second week that he didn't want to go, so we'll have to prep him for next week. David handed me a etch-a-sketch which helped out because Ryan was getting restless.
Ryan's behavior has changed quite a bit over the past week. I haven't read anything related to that, so that will be something else we will talk to the life care folks about. He could be in a great mood and then all of the sudden everything changes. It's been a noticeable change to us. I think he gets frustrated about everything and acts on those feelings. Maybe it has just been a taxing week on his body, and it is affecting his behavior. Either way, we're trying to find a good balance between understanding and discipline. We'll talk with him more and pray on this.
Becky and Abigail came over today to play with the kids, and they had a wonderful time! It was nice for them to spend time together. It's amazing how well they 'click' immediately when seeing one another. Uh, the photo with the nerf gun was staged (without my written or verbal approval), and there are strict rules about not pointing the nerf gun at anyone.
I'm also proud of my self today! I outlasted Emma in the "hmmm?" conversation. I think we exchanged about 35 "hmmm?s" before she gave in and walked away. Yes! Bring on the next challenge, little girl!
Father, thank you for the time that Abigail and Becky were able to spend with the kids today, as well as all of Ryan's smiles. Thank you for the joy and laughter in our house today. I ask that you give Ryan confidence and courage as you guide him through this journey and continue to heal my little boy. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
