Day Fifty-four

"Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord." 2 Peter 1:2

What an easy, relaxing day!  It was raining, and a good day to stay in.  Ryan had a good day.  Thank you, Lord.  He and I watched the Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 DVD (all episodes), and he was explaining everything to me like I didn't already know.  Later, when all the girls except Emma were out, he was learning about dinosaurs and telling me all the details.  He was really excited about them, and then told me that the non-meat eating dinosaurs go to heaven and the ones that eat people don't.

Emma was such a joy this afternoon.  I have never heard her laugh so much and so long.  We called Nanna, and Emma would throw her head back, close her eyes, and laugh hard every time Nanna would talk. I laugh a lot about what Nanna says too, so it was nice that someone else thought what she says is funny besides me.  :)   She is also doing a good job potty training.  It's only been a week or so, and today she walked to the bathroom door, started banging on it, so I put her on the potty and success!  I started doing the "daddy happy dance," and she was clapping as she sat on the toilet.

Mirjan's mother cooked a huuuuge pot of soup, so that is what we ate today.  It has been a joy having her around, so we don't look forward to her leaving this weekend.

I talked to Ryan about this Friday and was trying to get his mind in the right frame.  He immediately said that he didn't want to go, but then we talked about the teen room and Nick.  I also told him that he could take the Nintendo DS and play games in the bed.  Talking about it and setting his expectations have been a help in the past, so we will continue.  I don't ever want him to be surprised about a procedure and then really get scared and upset.

Kids prayers are wonderful.  Tonight Ryan said, "Thank you, God, for giving us your wonderful son who takes care of us."  And immediately afterward, he said, "Thank you, God, for blessing us with electricity."  I don't know where that came from.   After Davianna said her prayer, she asked if she could say her morning prayer and asked God to give her mom more energy. :)

This really was a good day, and I thank the Lord for it.

Father, thank you for a wonderful day for Ryan and the family.  Thank you for the time with Emma and Ryan that I was able to have today and the excitement and laughs.  I ask that you give Ryan confidence and strength for this weekend.  Be with the doctors and nurses, let the procedures be completed safely, and continue to heal his little body.  I am grateful for your blessings, miracles, and love through this journey, and I ask that you continue to guide us.  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen.
