Day One Hundred Fifty-four

"Think of the Bible as a long banquet table full of delicious entrees. You may step up to any section and select a morsel of truth."  Live It

Ryan had a good day today!

Mirjan called me when I was on the way home, and asked me to hurry up because she wasn't feeling good.  She was in a lot of pain and couldn't get around, so I put her in bed and had the evening with the kids.  I wanted to take her to the hospital, but she wouldn't go because she has an appointment with the doctor on Tuesday.  I was tempted to hog-tie her and put her in the car, but I trust her judgement.

Mirjan had started cooking, so I finished up (uh, turned off the stove), and fed the kids.  Ryan actually ate the pasta without any prodding tonight.  Yeah!   Afterward, we spent the evening outside with the other kids on the block.  Ryan knocked on one door and Davianna knocked on theother door and asked if they could play.   They are all around the same age, and really enjoy each other.   We were outside for about 2 hours and then headed back in.  Emma hit a brick wall and was ready for bed.  However, Davianna offered everyone popsicles, so we passed those out.  Ryan had two and Emma finished hers in record time.  She was suddenly full of energy when she saw the popsicles.

I took Emma a bath and the big kids took a shower.  I fixed Emma's milk and dropped her off with Mirjan, and she went to bed fast.  Ryan, Davianna, and I were talking, and I told them the story about Noah.  After that, Davianna kept asking about the flood she saw in San Antonio on tv and her science questions started coming.  I really loved enjoying the evening with them.  Mirjan came out after the kids were in bed, and was feeling a little better.  If she isn't much better tomorrow, she's going to the hospital.  We have already met every deductible possible, so we need to take advantage of it.  :)

Tomorrow is Ryan's last dose of Vincristine, which is a great thing!  It's not his last chemo treatment, but we are getting close.  Watching him run tonight just broke my heart.  His mind knows he should be walking and running faster, but his body won't cooperate.  It doesn't seem to bother him though.   The doctor said it we would see significant improvement with that within 2-3 months after the last dose of this, so hopefully by the time he starts school, his walk gets back to normal.

Father, thank you for blessing the kids with a wonderful day.  Thank you for the time with them this evening and their amazing joy.  Father, I ask that you be with Mirjan and take her pain away.  I also ask that you be with Ryan tomorrow, comfort his mind, let the treatment be effective, and continue to heal his little body.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.
