"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10
Ryan was in a good mood when I got home from work. He was happy that his momma was making ribs for dinner. He asks for them at least twice a week, so tonight was a good meal for him. He did get sick earlier in the day, but it didn't phase him too much. These chemo double shots every several weeks really mess with his stomach. I am looking forward to the day when he does not have to feel that way.
Well, I got a lecture this morning. I probably deserved it too. Davianna said that I was m-o-o-t-y (at least she was close to the correct spelling). After we said our prayers in the car on the way to school, she was getting out and told me that I needed to have a good day. She is not large, but acts like she's in charge. Just like her mother.
Emma is such a happy little girl and such a blessing. She must have kissed me 100 times today....my hand, my face, my legs....she even kissed my foot when I was sitting down. I told her to teach her mother that, and Mirjan did not think that was funny. At least I have no problem finding ways to amuse myself.
A lesson in the house is if you are on the floor, you are fair game for everyone. Mirjan laid down and within a couple of minutes, we were all tickling her. Emma won the prize tonight because as Mirjan was laughing, Emma backed up and sat on her face. That made everyone laugh harder, but also ended the game.
Mirjan was doing the girl hair thing, and it still amazes me at how she can do all of those creative designs with little girl's hair. So, that gave me plenty of time to play with the kids after their bath time. Emma was falling on me, which was really funny. She would just laugh and laugh. So, Ryan started to do that, which was funny to him and painful for me. He makes up names (super blast and smash slam) and then delivers a blow to me. I have to make sure that he doesn't watch wrestling, or I will really be in trouble. That went on..and on...and on. How do I get some of that energy? Then Ryan and I read an "I Spy" book, which I realized tonight how much learning really comes from reading these books. Davianna has this stuff down....letters, numbers, some words, many different and unusual items, etc. that always lead to different stories and explanations. It's not just a game, it's an adventure.
Father, your blessings are many, and I am grateful for each one. The laughter and smiles are so wonderful, and I can never get enough. Thank you. For every day of this journey, each interaction with new people, and new interactions with people we know, I realize the many blessings that you have and are providing. We are experiencing stronger and deeper relationships and amazing love and caring. I didn't want to start this journey, but am thankful for your love, strength, comfort, and guidance every day since it started. Father, I ask that you provide your protection for Ryan and continue to heal his little body. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
