God bless those who have given their lives to ensure our freedom. May their patriotism and their love for God and country inspire us to do something selfless for our fellow man.
What a day! We headed to the hospital around 9:30am to meet some of the WWE wrestlers. Eva Torres and Evan Bourne were there signing autographs for the kids. Evan was small when you think of wrestlers and Ryan kept asking if that "boy" was really a wrestler. Then he kept saying that he could beat him with all of his wrestling moves. So, when we got home, I showed him this video and he changed his mind a bit.
It was really nice that they shared their time with the kids. They are now my favorite wrestlers. We also got tickets to their event tonight. I'm still on the fence whether that will be a good thing for Ryan. He doesn't need any additional moves to try out on daddy.
I just became a fan of wrestling!
Mirjan took the kids to the sprinkler park in our neighborhood for a little while, and I did the fun stuff, like bills, at home. Ryan was really excited about going and ran up and gave me a kiss goodbye. I love it when he is like that.
After some naps in the afternoon, we left for WWE Monday Night RAW! It took twice as long to go the last two blocks and park as it did to get there. Lesson learned for any future events there....get there early and take the side streets. We had pretty good seats in the upper section near the front. Mirjan went to get some food, and I kept the kids entertained until the matches started. Once the pyrotechnics started, Ryan and Davianna covered their ears and Emma put her hands into a ball and covered her eyes, but she didn't cry. It was loud! Then everyone started cheering and clapping and Emma started clapping too.
The pictures aren't that great because they didn't allow cool cameras like Mirjan's, so we had to take the 5 year old pocket camera.
They said it was going to go live on the USA network after the first 15 minutes, so I got on my phone and set the DVR to record (Davianna thought that was cool too). I watched a couple of minutes when we got home and WOW!...you can actually see the faces! You get all the energy at the event, but in the cheap seats you don't see the details. Anyway, the kids had a great time. On our way out, we got the kids some ice cream and then sat outside and ate it before heading to the car.
This was a good way to end a good weekend with the family.
Father, thank you for blessing us with a wonderful weekend together. Thank you for your love displayed through so many great organizations that gave us memorable moments. You have blessed with so many loving people during this journey, and I am grateful. Father, I ask that you continue to strengthen Ryan's body, minimize the side affects, and heal his little body. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
