Day One Hundred Twenty-nine

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."  Romans 8:28

Where did this day go?  I had wanted to plan something out for the kids, but finding someplace that was indoors so the heat wouldn't drain Ryan and not have tons and tons of people is kind of hard on Memorial Day Weekend.  So, we relaxed in the house for a while and then had a late lunch out.  Emma ate like a horse, and was really getting into the ketchup.  She just shook it and shook it.
Ryan didn't want to eat a thing, so after a little creativity, he ate a little bit.  We headed over to the bowling alley, but it was jam packed!  So, we decided to walk around the outlet mall.  Ryan and Davianna got some ice cream (at least he had no problem eating that!) and Emma bummed some off of both of them.

I took this opportunity to teach Ryan a man's role when shopping with his wife.  When you go into the store, you find the "man pod" and sit down.  It's at this time when a smart phone (or in his case a nintendo ds or a book) comes in handy.  You amuse yourself and when she comes by to ask your opinion you tell her she would look beautiful in that, but she looks beautiful in everything (which is the truth).  You never tell her to hurry up or look frustrated.  Don't worry, it will be over soon.  I told him that the more kids that you have, the shorter the shopping experience will be since one of them will throw a fit sooner or later (tired, hungry, etc.).  So, you just need to be able to outlast one of the kids, which is what I did today!

We weren't out there too long.  It seemed like even in the shops, it was hot.  What happened to air conditioning?   We headed back home with the A/C on high in the car.

Once we got home, I went out and mowed the yard while the kids played on the computer and Mirjan cooked dinner.  Afterward, Davianna and I ran some errands.  We took the movie back and got another one.  Redbox is really cool.  I reserved the new movie from my phone in the parking lot, and it just dispensed when I swiped my credit card.  Davianna was really impressed.  Then she was adamant that we went to Target to get some gum, so we stopped by on the way home.  I told her that she had to pay, so she pulled out a gift card and seemed so grown up as she handled the entire purchase transaction.

When we arrived home, we turned off all of the lights and watched Planet 51.  It was an okay movie, but what made it better is that we were all watching it together (except Emma...she was already down for the night).

Another memory from today....Ryan was talking 100 miles per hour while telling Mirjan some instructions about something.  After he stopped, he had this weird look on his face, and said, "God, please help me remember everything that I just said."   Funny stuff.   Oh, and the vitamin b started for Ryan today.

Father, thank you for blessing Ryan with a healthy day.  Thank you for a day that we spent together as a family and enjoyed our time together.  Wonderful blessing.  I ask that you continue to help Ryan with his appetite, strengthen his body, and keep his spirits high.  In Jesus' name, I ask that you heal my little boy.  Amen.
