Day One Hundred Seventeen

"Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise." James 5:13

Ryan had a good day today.  There was a little commotion when I arrived home between he and Davianna, but the day ended with him coming to her with a kiss and hug.

Ryan is really cool whenever I go to get my tools.  Whatever mood he is in, it changes immediately:

"What can I do to help, Dad."
"You want to hold my tools, Ryan?"
"Oh, yeah. Sure, Dad."

He really wants to help and learn.   It's pretty cool.

After the most wonderful dinner cooked by the most beautiful wife, the kids and I went outside to play.  They wanted to play the "let Dad try and catch us" game.  Oh, great.  So, we played that a little bit, and then Mirjan came out and took some pictures.  I chased Ryan and grabbed his shorts and they came off a bit.  Mirjan got the perfect shot of his rear end, and he was not a happy camper.  "Mom, delete that picture right now!"  "Mom, did you delete that picture?"  "Mom, let me see if you deleted that picture."  We were laughing too hard, which probably added to his irritation.  Oh, well, that was short-lived and we were having fun again.

Here are some pictures that Mirjan captured:

Davianna was running so fast, the camera couldn't even catch her.  It caught me though.

Proof that I was still fast enough to catch her.  I'm enjoying it now, because it won't last long.

Emma was in the middle of the fun too!

Emma!  Just because your dog does it in the yard, doesn't mean you can too!!  (Okay, she was really pretending that she was jumping up and down.)

Magnolia!

Mirjan's labor of love.  She is already cooking with her herbs.  And there are signs of okra!!

After the fun, the kids slowed down and got ready for bed, while I did my daily hunt for stuff.  I think I spend more time looking for things than anything else.  I usually give up and ask Ryan to get it from his hiding spot or humbly make an inquiry to Mrs. House GPS.

Ryan and I played a game, and he was not shy giving me advice.  Then he was off to bed.  Davianna read some books, and then we played "I Spy."  Just for the record, she won again tonight.

Father, thank you for blessing us with a wonderful evening together.  The laughter and smiles of children is great for the soul, and I am grateful.  Thank you for the love that Ryan showed his big sister tonight.  That is the sweet, loving boy that we know.  I ask that you be with Emma and help her get over her cold.  Be with Ryan and keep his body healthy and immune system strong.  Father, I ask in Jesus' name that you heal my little boy.  Amen.
