"Christ has risen. He has risen indeed. Hallelujah!"
Ryan was able to get some extra sleep in today. We were watching Life on discovery channel, and he konked out. Mirjan took him up to the bed, and he was able to get a couple of hours of sleep. Today, he needed food and sleep. We're still working on the food part.
Last night I filled about 50 eggs with candy and hid them around the house. Ryan woke up and asked me to sleep with him, so I did. This morning, I awoke to excited little children running around the house. I came out, and Davianna and Ryan were running from room to room with their baskets. Emma really had no interest in the eggs, but was having fun following them around. It was so nice watching them together. They were excited for each other and were having a blast.
Afterward, I made them breakfast and then Mirjan started getting them ready for church. We went to the service, and it was full. The message was good, and the kids behaved. Emma was a little chatty, but that's to be expected because Mirjan is her mother. :) After church, we had a relaxing afternoon. Mirjan painted Davianna's nails, I dozed off, and Emma was into everything. Mirjan and Davianna slipped out in the afternoon to go to an easter egg hunt and dinner. Emma looked like she was getting a cold and Ryan was asleep, so they stayed with me.
Emma and I worked on the dishes, and she actually was a great help. I was a little concerned when she was taking the real dishes out, but she didn't drop any. After we put them up, she followed me around as I cleaned the kitchen. I would give her something to put up, and her happy feet would start stamping like she was excited to help. A couple of times, she returned with more stuff, but she was helpful.
Ryan didn't want to eat the pasta that Mirjan made, and he kept asking for pizza. Since he hadn't eaten much all weekend, I ordered pizza. But not before I got a pinky promise that he would eat at least two slices. If you round up, I guess he did eat two slices.
In the evening, we were dancing to youtube videos on the television. There are a couple of children songs that Emma goes nuts about. She gets so excited and starts shaking her rear end like she grew up in the Bronx. :) (Yep, I'm going to the doghouse for that.) As we kept dancing, Ryan started playing a puzzle game on the ipod. He is a thinker, and enjoys those type of games. I'm amazed at the quality of free games on the ipod. There are many learning games, educational games, etc. Ryan is catching up to Davianna quickly in grasping all of the technology gadgets.
I took Mirjan's SD card from her camera yesterday, so I could upload the pictures. Today, she was at the Easter egg hunt and was taking a ton of pictures. She tried to review them, and saw that the camera was in demo mode; it didn't have any memory. So, no pictures today because I didn't return the memory card to it's proper location. :) Oh, well, I'm sure we'll have many more next weekend.
Father, thank you for blessing us with this day. The day that you raised your son, conquered death, and opened the door to eternal life for us. I am grateful and humbled. I thank you for giving Ryan a good day and energy this evening. I ask that you give his body strength, let his counts rise by your power, keep his immune system strong, and continue to heal his little body. I pray that the treatment this weekend is safe and effective and that the side effects are minimal. Let this be the last chemo treatment that requires him to stay overnight in the hospital. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
