Day Ninety-one

"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."  Deuteronomy 31:8

Rollercoaster ride!  Ryan was very good today.  He was in a great mood, ate his food, and said he had a good day.  He hugged me several times before I left for work, and then he called me at work and told me to have a good day.  Thank you, Lord!

When I got home, little Emma came running and hugged me many times.  She is such a blessing.  Her little laugh is wonderful!  Ryan still runs and gives me a tight hug, and Davianna acknowledges my presence.   Mirjan was cooking a great dinner.  You know you're day is going well when your Dominican wife, raised in NYC, is cooking chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and homemade gravy.  She is also growing okra in the garden;  I think she is close to earning her Texas citizenship!

Emma is getting into technology gadgets.  Davianna already provides tech support for Nanna on the computer, and Emma will be able to help her with her ipod when Nanna gets one of those.

Bath time was quick and uneventful, which was nice.  Ryan wanted me to keep telling him stories about when I was a little kid, but I'm running out.  He really likes the one when I vomited in the car on the way up Pikes Peak.  I guess I need to clear out the cob webs and think about some more...ones that are appropriate for him and don't give him any ideas to do things that he shouldn't be doing.

I DVR'd the draft and will watch it quickly now that the kids are in bed.  Everyone has hope at this stage, and I'm no different.  The Texans are going to beat the Cowboys in another regular season game and then win the superbowl!

Father, thank you for blessing Ryan with a good day.  I'm grateful for the time with the family, the love of a beautiful wife, and the smiles of three wonderful children.  I ask that you give Ryan strength to face the needle tomorrow.  I ask that the CBC returns good results and that a transfusion is not necessary.  I ask that you continue to heal my little boy.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.

I love the okra references! It brings back good memories! My Texan parents served okra to friends at dinnertime. The friends were from Idaho and had never eaten it before! They loved it and insisted on growing it in their own garden after they moved up to Minnesota. We always laughed about the okra, especially when their northern neighbors wanted to know what it was and why they would want to grow it in their garden!

Hope all goes well tomorrow! We are praying!
