"We are continually faced with great opportunities which are brilliantly disguised as unsolvable problems.” People with cancer have often turned their cancer into great opportunities. Many people use their cancer to reach out to others in need and still others find a way to finally let others reach out to them. Very often, cancer changes people for the better even when things couldn’t look much worse." Margaret Mead
Nothing exciting, nothing new today. Mirjan's sisters left, so everyone was weeping uncontrollably (okay, we were just sad to see them go). Udi is obsessed with Sonic, and she had to get a strawberry limeade and tater tots before she left. Last night when I had to make a late night milk run, she sent me a text asking me to run by Sonic. I went way out of my way (about 1 mile), but Sonic was already closed. I thought tears were going to flow when I told her that. :)
Funny quote of the day: Mirjan asked Ryan not to drink on the carpet, and he said, "But mom we need to hydrate ourselves."
Loving moment of the day: Ryan was curled up on the recliner and covered with a blanket, and Davianna sat in the chair with him, put her arm around him and kissed his head.
'Bolted' head moment of the day: Davianna said that Ryan is getting a bald spot, and Ryan just looked at me and said, "That's not very nice." I was expecting him to either get really mad or sad, since this has been a touchy subject for the past week. He then said that when he got his 'bolted' head that he was going to get a nerf gun. Okay, I guess that's another deal he just made with me. Nana found some really cool hats for him, and I'm sure he'll be excited about those. She found one that I was looking for and sold out everywhere, so I guess she still has some tricks up her sleeve.
Father, thank you for this day and your blessings. Thank you for my family and our time together each day. I ask that you continue to heal Ryan, minimize the side affects, keep him healthy as his immune system becomes vulnerable, and keep a smile on his face. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
