Day Thirty-three

"God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it."  Author unknown

SNOW DAY!   I can't remember the last time we saw snow here, so everyone was excited today.  I really wanted to go home and play with the kids, but didn't get home until late....most of the snow was already gone by then.  However, Ryan couldn't stop talking about the snow.  Mirjan let him go out just for a little while and they made a snow mountain on the picnic table and threw snowballs.  Mirjan said she and Ryan had an all out snowball fight.  I wish I had a video of that!  Thank you, Lord, for letting him have another good day!

Since I got home late, I only got to spend about an hour with the kids before they went to bed.  Ryan and Davianna were 'off the hook.'  They were running and playing with each, screaming out loud, and little Emma was just trying to keep up.  She was laughing and just running trying to make as much noise as they were.  As I got Ryan into bed, he had to have some strawberries.  I'm going to have to buy some more this week, because he is going through those as fast as the kids go through milk.

I talked with an old friend tonight, and he offered to help in any way that he could....grocery shopping, bring food to the hospital, stay up there during treatments, etc.  God's love displayed again.

Ryan asked me if the bald spot was messing up his mohawk, but he didn't seem bothered by it.  He actually said he was pulling out some of his today, so he would have a 'bolted' head sooner.  What?!?  I guess that's progress from a week ago though.    (Update:  Mirjan told him about a hair fairy, which she said he was excited about.  I need to understand the responsibilities of the hair fairy!)

Treatment #4 on Friday, so we're just looking forward to that going well and then taking it easy and watching Ryan over the weekend.

Over and out.

Father, thank you for blessing the kids with an exciting, fun day with lots of smiles and laughter.  Thank you for giving Ryan the strength to enjoy the day.   Today was a good day, and we are grateful.  I ask you for your continued healing power for Ryan, strength for Mirjan, and guidance through this journey.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.
