Day Thirty-eight

"The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine upon you
       and be gracious to you;

the LORD turn his face toward you
       and give you peace."  Numbers 6:24-26

Ryan is doing well today, thank you, Lord!!

Today started unusually for a Sunday.  Mirjan and I had talked about limiting Ryan's exposure after the big chemo treatments until we see the CBC the following week.  So, Ryan and I were going to stay home while the girls went to church.  However, it didn't quite go that way.   Somehow, I was evicted from my bedroom last night and everyone else slept there.  So, when I woke up this morning, the house was quiet and no one else was here!  Mirjan said that she and the girls were leaving for church, when Ryan came running to the door and said, "I want to praise the Lord too!"  Thank you, Lord, for his love for you!  Anyway, he ended up going to church, and I was left in the guest bedroom probably snoring loudly.

When they returned, I ran an errand and then watched "Curious George" with Ryan.  Everyone else took a nap.  Then I decided to deal with the weeds that seemingly appeared over night.  Mirjan cooked fried plantains and pasta tonight, and we enjoyed a nice dinner together.

The day flew by without much excitement, so this is a boring update, but it allows me time to reflect on the day.

Father, I thank you for your healing power over Ryan, and that he is doing much better after a hard day yesterday.  I thank you for a wonderful companion in Mirjan who shares your love to bring our family closer together.  I ask for your guidance and strength as we continue this journey. In Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen.
