Day One Hundred Thirty-seven

"Suffering takes our faith from the realm of theory to reality, and suffering brings glory to God. Anyone can be happy when the sky is blue and the sun is shining. But when a storm is hitting, it is a different matter."  Greg Laurie

What a good day for Ryan!  Well, when I got home I could hear the noise from outside.  Davianna and Ryan were playing together and being really silly.  That is a sight that I haven't seen enough of lately.  They were really enjoying one another.  Emma came running into the room naked and wouldn't let anyone catch her to put on some clothes.  Mirjan finally caught her and clothed her and she didn't like that too much. :)  She has good anticipation skills and knows when to run through the kitchen or around the couch based on the angle we take to catch her.  She just runs and laughs out loud the entire time.  It is hilarious watching those little feet go faster and faster.  When she really wants to go fast, she leans forward and puts her arms behind her.

Mirjan sent me this picture on the phone today, so I was sure that there was going to be okra stewing when I got home.  Nope.  Maybe tomorrow night...hint, hint.  She did cook some more of her beans, which were really good.

Later, Davianna and Ryan came running into the living room with just their underwear.  What?  Then they started doing "the boody dance."  What?!?  It looked they had practiced the choreography and the song. Where do they learn this stuff?  I know it wasn't tv, because it wasn't on all day.  It did look like something from "America's Funniest Videos."   Anyway, it was very amusing, and they were doing something together. They might be bonding in weird ways, but at least they were bonding.   Tonight reminded me of how they acted together six months ago, and we have missed that.

Lately, Emma has really gotten into books.  She will bring me a book and demand that I read it.  Then she will open it up and start flipping the pages and start babbling.  She loves the leap tag reader, but hasn't quite figured out that it only works on tag books.  :)  It is nice to see her so interested in books at this age.

Later, Davianna was looking out the windows, and she said she needed to find a star.  She found one and then asked me, "What is that saying?"  I told her, "Starlight, Starbright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, get the wish I wish tonight."   She closed her eyes tight, she crossed fingers on both hands, and made a wish.  Then she was smiling as she went back to bed.  If I was a betting man, I'd say she just wished that she could have a play day with one of her friends tomorrow, but she wouldn't tell me.  Cute little girl.  Oh, the librarian role is getting old for her.  I asked her to come to her room because I needed a book to read to Ryan.  She told me that I could get one, but I told her it was her responsibility now. :)

What a weird evening, but a lot of laughs.

Father, thank you for the blessing of children loving time together and really enjoying each other.  Thank you for Ryan's energy and really good mood today.  I ask that you continue to give him strength and peace and let this behavior continue.  Father, please continue to heal my little boy.  In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.
